“Trust In Me”
By: Music on the Sidewalk
Verse 1:
First thing I thought
was you’re an angel
Being with you’s
never a struggle
I treasure you
as a friend to me
Hanging with you’s
where I wanna be
Chorus:
The past is the past
and I don’t wanna wait
No more regrets
just keep moving in faith
This thing that we have
is true
Trust in me baby
I love you
Verse 2:
Don’t wanna live
in her shadow
Don’t wanna
hurt you so
Thought that she’d
have me forever
That’s ‘til we
got together
Chorus:
The past is the past
and I don’t wanna wait
No more regrets
just keep moving in faith
This thing that we have
is true
Trust in me baby
I love you
Verse 3:
Baby it’s only
you and me now
We both didn’t
know how
We thought we’d
never be together
But I guess fate says
it’s the start of forever
Chorus:
The past is the past
and I don’t wanna wait
No more regrets
just keep moving in faith
This thing that we have
is true
Trust in me baby
I love you

SEASON FINALE SPOILS!
My Buy More mole just tipped me off that Josh Schwartz is casting younger versions of Chuck and Ellie ( 7 and 11, respectively) to appear in a flashback sequence in Chuck’s season finale. No other details were provided, but I spy a connection between this and Scott Bakula’s…
my future husband. hopefully. well, someone like him. :) watching chuck never fails to make me smile.
Notes on “Chuck versus The Fake Name”
-We learn Sarah’s real first name. And it is *drumroll please*… Sam. As much as the mystery was appealing, I think the subject had to be thrown out there someday. Also, given the situation at hand, I think it was a great scene overall. I’m not sure if I have this completely correct, but my impression was that she told Shaw with the knowledge that Chuck would hear her and become jealous - which definitely seemed to work. It’ll be interesting to see how now knowing her first and middle names will play out in future episodes.
-I still think Sarah is playing Shaw. Either that, or she’s TRULY bad with relationships. Obviously, she still has huge feelings for Chuck. And yes, she admitted to Shaw in this episode that she doesn’t like the person Chuck is slowly becoming, aka Charles Carmichael. But what exactly does she see in Shaw, especially given she was disgusted with him in half of the last episode? Personally, I’m still skeeved out by Shaw and think he has a sketchy background related to The Ring, but who knows. We’ll see.
-Alright, so as much as I love Chuck and Sarah together, what Chuck did at the end of the episode was definitely high on the jackass scale. He dumped Hannah while she was having dinner with her parents and the day after he invited her to meet his family, “cooked her dinner,” and apparently slept with her. Chuck, I know you realized how much Sarah truly means to you, and I know deep down inside you didn’t want to do that to Hannah, but did you really have to do it right then and there? I mean, she really cares about you. She came to work at the BuyMore JUST FOR YOU.
-Chuck impersonating the assassin Rafe Gruber was HILARIOUS. “Who the hell is Bartowski?” and “Who doesn’t like a good cupcake?” FANTASTIC. And the whole “will-they-won’t-they” banter with the two former “Sopranos” actors was a great jab at the crazy shippers out there.
-John Casey always was a badass, but his badass scale just rose a couple notches higher in this episode, if that was even possible. Also, what is the deal with “Alex Coburn”? Guess we shall have to find out later.
-I love my OC, and I love how Johnny Messner, who played Julie Cooper’s con man ex in Season 2, was assassin Rafe Gruber in this episode.
-Starting off the episode with Captain Awesome shirtless is always a great idea. I also love the whole dynamic of Awesome struggling with Chuck’s secret and being the terrible liar, while Chuck is struggling with his spy/regular life while being a fantastic liar.
-It seems as if Jeffster and Big Mike ship Chuck and Sarah too! Jeff’s ever so wise words: “When he’s with Sarah, the light in his eyes shine brightly.” True words of wisdom, Jeff, truly super.
-I missed Morgan a lot in this episode! I never really noticed it until now, but he does bring a lot to the show. Apparently the next episode (Chuck versus the Beard) is very Morgan-heavy, though, so I guess that makes up for it. Not to mention the next episode is directed by Chuck himself, Zachary Levi!
Can’t wait for Chuck episode 309! Tune in next week at 8/7 pm Central on NBC for some guaranteed awesomeness!
In honor of CHUCK returning tonight… an entry about why I love this show and why everyone should watch it. :)
Not too long ago, I became introduced to an amazing television show called CHUCK. It’s an amazing nerdy spy action-comedy-romance created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak that airs on NBC.
I don’t usually like television shows. They usually fail to draw me in and willingly make me turn on my television to tune in week after week. I don’t find myself caring about any of the characters. However, Josh Schwartz creates shows that make me actually care.
Josh Schwartz just happens to be the master behind one of my favorite shows of all time: The OC. I could gush about how much I absolutely ADORE The OC, but that’s an entry in itself. Briefly, though, I’ll explain the main reasons why I love The OC because it does somewhat tie into how I feel about Chuck. I fell in love with The OC because it wasn’t an ordinary teenage television drama. It didn’t just deal with Orange County’s rich and troubled. It dealt with outsiders: unique characters with multilayered personalities who simply didn’t fit in the world they lived in. Not to mention the show had the “adorkable” Seth Cohen, one of the greatest characters of television history if it was up to me to decide. Also, how about the fact that the show constantly referenced comic books and other nerd-related subjects such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, you name it? How about the fact that it actually parodied Spider-Man? Those subjects aren’t normally what you would expect to be on a teen television drama. For these reasons and many many more, I fell in love with The OC.
The OC has now been laid to rest in the television grave, but I have nothing to grieve about as its death led to the birth of Chuck, a show that has now captivated my heart just as much - if not more - than The OC did. Just like The OC, Chuck takes a genre and completely spins it around to create something completely unique. Chuck is no ordinary James Bond. Chuck is no ordinary James Bond parody (a la Johnny English or Get Smart). Yes, it’s a spy show. Yes, it’s got plenty of action. Yes, it’s got plenty of comedy. And yes, it has romance. But it also has something you normally wouldn’t expect to find in the spy genre: a lovable, adorably nerdy foundation. This foundation not only rests in Chuck Bartowski himself (played SO WELL by Zachary Levi), but also his family and his friends. This foundation is the heart of the show and one of many reasons why I fell in love with CHUCK in the first place. The concept of Chuck is a little difficult to explain if you’ve never seen an episode, which is why I recommend you start watching immediately! In any case, it’s about an ordinary and awkward, yet extremely intelligent, guy named Chuck Bartowski who works as a Nerd Herder at a BuyMore (a Best Buy Geek Squad parody). Chuck’s old Stanford roommate sent him a file of government secrets, called the Intersect, which were then downloaded into his brain on his birthday. Believing he was dangerous, the CIA and NSA sent one agent each to learn more about Chuck, since “nice guys weren’t sent government secrets.” The original Intersect had been destroyed and Chuck’s computer accidentally got fried, which made Chuck the only Intersect left. It turned out Chuck was a perfectly nice, normal guy who was able to stop a bomb using the Intersect’s data that would “flash” in his brain, so the agents (named Sarah Walker and John Casey) were assigned to protect him and use him as their asset when they go on missions to save the world.
That all happened in the pilot episode. The episodes that follow all include hilariously witty one-liners, amazing indie music, epic situations, ridiculous bad guys, secret agents, nerds, geeks, doctors, love interests, video games, Casey’s grunts, Dominic Monaghan as a rockstar… you name it. Oh, and an amazingly awful cover band named Jeffster! and a character named Captain Awesome, who happens to be awesomely good-looking. That’s enough to convince anyone to start watching the show.
I think the above paragraph basically summed up the sheer greatness of Chuck. If I were to truly get into specifics, this would be the longest blog entry ever, and there is just way too much to cover when there are three seasons of the show.
The shame, though, is the fact that Chuck isn’t as popular as it deserves to be. It almost got cancelled once, but its devoted fanbase was able to save it for a third season. I became hooked just this year, and I really want to share the Chuck love with others so that more people will watch it and that it can get the recognition it deserves. So please, go rent or buy Seasons 1 and 2 of Chuck, and tune into Chuck at 8/7pm central on NBC every Monday night, including tonight. You will not be disappointed!
